Military service taught me discipline. Law enforcement taught me to read a situation fast. Credit I learned on my own, the hard way.
What I figured out rebuilding my own financial life, I turned into a credit repair company. Then I took that knowledge into the mortgage industry and eventually into fintech. I taught myself, then walked into the system and watched how it worked from the inside.
Borrowed Mistakes is the book I needed at 20. It is written for veterans, civilians, and anyone who has ever felt like the financial system was built for someone else.
I’m also a husband and father. The costs in this story reached further than a credit report. They showed up at home, in conversations, and in decisions my family had to make.
